Patricia Rolfes Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 7, 2026.
Patricia Darlene Rolfes, affectionately known as Pat to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on April 22, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Edward and Madeline (Merritt) Adams, Pat's life was one of love, strength and gentle laughter that touched everyone she knew.

Pat's early education at Sacred Heart of Mary School in Baltimore laid the foundation for her lifelong values and faith. It was in these formative years that she met Frederick Rolfes, and the two married and soon after started their family. They were blessed with three children, the late Sharon James, Frederick "Fritz" Rolfes Jr. (Malini), and Patricia Ann Hauser, along with her caring husband, Bill.

Though Pat was a proud homemaker, cherishing her role in creating a loving home, she also worked part-time as a clerk. Her relationships with her children were paramount, her bond with her eldest daughter, Sharon. Despite the distance, they maintained a daily connection until Sharon's early passing in 2011.

Pat's family circle was wide and full of love, including her siblings Karen Adams, Joyce Fandl, and the late Edward Adams Jr., along with her sister-in-law, Ellen Adams. Her legacy continued with her five grandchildren, Richard Lucas III (Amy), Adam Lucas (Jeannie), and Sara Guerrero (Shawn), and her seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Noah, Lyle, Logan, Austin, Cooper, and Olivia. Pat was also a step-grandmother to Billy, Collene, and Lindsey, along with their families.

In her later years, Pat found great joy and comfort in living with her daughter Pattie and her son-in-law Bill, sharing in their daily lives and adventures. She was always looking forward to Happy Tuesday and visits with Fritz and Malini.

Pat's interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She was an avid bingo player, a lover of Maryland crabs, and an enthusiast of games of chance, often enjoying outings to Atlantic City and local casinos like Dover Downs. Her wit was as sharp as her mind, and her ability to make others laugh and feel loved was one of her many gifts.

Those who knew Pat will remember her as a loving and kind soul, a woman of strong opinions who was never afraid to speak her mind. Her warmth, generosity, and unforgettable sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Mental Health Association of Maryland https://www.mhamd.org
