Patricia Ann "Patti" Ruby

Patricia "Patti" Ann Ruby, age 56, of Clear Lake, SD, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home in Clear Lake. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the Clear Lake Community Center in Clear Lake, SD with Pastor Steve Gregg officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the community center. Burial will be at a later date in the Augusta Cemetery, Marietta, MN. Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Patti requested a donation to Clear Lake City Library.
On Sunday, November 6th, 2022, Patti A. Ruby left this world to spend eternity with her Lord. She was 56. Born to Perry and Carol Stevanus on December 23rd, 1965, she was the third child born in the family. Frank Hanson was the oldest, Angela Hanson next, Patti, and her little sister Pam Sivertson. All her siblings surviving. Patti was preceded in death by her father Perry and grandson Holden.
Patti was born in Mobridge, South Dakota, but grew up and graduated from Watertown in 1984. She married Scott Ruby on August 21st, 1993. They met while working for HSA at "house four" in 1986. They had two children together, Jon and Emma. Patti also helped raise her stepdaughter Taylor and helped her to become the wife and mother she is today.
Patti had three passions in her life, first loving Jesus, second, teaching, and third children. She brought all three together by home schooling Jon and Emma after graduating from Mount Marty in Elementary Education and becoming Library Director in Clear Lake in June of 2019. She loved her job at the library and improved it considerably, adding programs for kids, families and the community.
She is lovingly remembered by her surviving family: husband Scott Ruby; children: Sam and Taylor Dunn with grandchildren Eden, Jada and Stoli, Jon and Leah Ruby with grandson Asher, and Emma Ruby and special friend Lucas Trooien.
Patti was especially thankful to give her little sister Pam the opportunity to spend the last two weeks on Earth with her.
