Patricia Katherine (Gutt) Schulte, 83, beloved wife to the late Francis H. Schulte, Jr., of Colchester, CT, passed away peacefully with her children by her side, November 5, 2025. Patricia was born in Hartford, CT, on September 7, 1942, to the late John and Theresa (Sieminski) Gutt. Patricia was raised in
Glastonbury, CT, and was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, class of 1960. As a teenager, Patricia helped cut and hang tobacco every summer on her dad's family's farm, Gutt Family Farm, located on Addison Road, with her brother Robert Gutt and many cousins. The original Gutt family farmhouse still stands today, along with a small roadside farm stand. As a young girl, Patricia watched Route 2 be built from her grandmother's farm fields and farmhouse, which is now Sycamore Street. Patricia was very proud to have been raised and to have her family roots in
Glastonbury, CT. Patricia had her home in Enfield, CT, built in 1967, where she raised her children and called home for the past 46 years. After Francis's passing in 2013, Patricia moved to Colchester, CT, where she lived for the past 11 years. Patricia was a woman of many interests, such as UCONN Women's Basketball or traveling, whether it was Florida for a long stay or Chicago for a day, she was always going somewhere. Patricia loved to tend to her gardens and work in the yard. She took a cake decorating course years ago and was very talented decorating wedding cakes. Patricia loved to cook and bake for family, friends, and whoever visited her home. Patricia will be most fondly remembered as someone who brought family and friends together. She would host every family holiday party, a multitude of parties for families and friends, and always made sure everyone was fed and had a drink in their hand. The most important thing to her was family. She loved and doted on her children and her loving grandchildren, who knew her as Nana. We will miss her forever, and we are grateful for the wisdom she gave us and the memories we shared. Patricia is survived by her children, Kimberly Langdon and her husband David of New Hartford, CT, Brian Schulte and his wife Margot of Monson, MA, Dennise Gray of Enfield, CT, and Deborah Brede and her husband Conrad of Amston, CT. Patricia will also be dearly missed by her grandson, Thomas Herzig of Enfield, CT, and her twin granddaughters, Madison and Leah Brede of Amston, CT. Patricia is predeceased by her husband, Francis Schulte, Jr., mother, Theresa Sieminski, father, John Gutt, daughter, Deborah Schulte, granddaughter Nicole Katherine Whidtfeldt, and her brother, Robert Gutt. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12 Noon in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave.
