Patricia Janet Simpson, age 84 of East Rochester, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Patricia was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on November 22, 1941 to William and Etna (Sissel) Cooper.
Patricia left behind a legacy of dedication and hard work. Patricia devoted 30 years of her life as the head cook at Minerva Local Schools, where she was known for her commitment to nourishing young minds and bodies with care and dedication.
Throughout her life, Patricia found joy in various endeavors. She took pride in her work at a shoe factory in Jackson, Ohio, where she contributed to the local industry. Additionally, she drove a flag car with diligence and helped maintain many homes with her cleaning services, always ensuring they were welcoming and warm.
Patricia's love for her community and unwavering work ethic touched the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and passion for her work will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters: Dawn (Thomas) Miller of Minerva and Valerie (Robert) Warren of North Benton; a son, Patrick (Wendy) Simpson of Minerva; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Griffith of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Judy Cooper of East Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Simpson; a sister, Wilma Caldwell; three brothers: Don Cooper, Carl Cooper, and Harry Cooper; two grandsons: Timothy Crawford and Levi Miller.
Funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home, 205 West Lincoln Way, Minerva, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bartley Funeral Home.
