Patricia Steinle Obituary

Patricia Ann Killian was born on February 26, 1939, almost on the steps (according to her mother) of the Fosston, Minnesota Hospital to parents Lawrence and Fern Killian. After graduating high school, Patricia moved to the Twin Cities and became a hair dresser, later opening her own shop in southern Minneapolis. She married Alfred F. Vieira and they had three sons, Daniel, Paul and David. In 1985 Patricia and her husband were divorced.

In June of 1986 Patricia and James Steinle went on their first date together, to catch some fish to contribute to a wild game dinner they were both invited to by mutual friends. James in trying to teach Patt how to get into a canoe when out in deeper water, had her flop in, and in doing so flipped James right out of the canoe into the water! She thought he would never want to go on another date with her! Just a few months later on September 27, 1986 Patricia Ann and James R. Steinle became happily ever-after married for more than 39 years.

Patricia loved to fish, ski, sew, especially making, selling and giving away beautiful felted mittens (around 4,000 pair in the past 20 years). She especially loved music, playing the piano, guitar, singing and creating songs (around 30 of them involving family, love, spiritual, and even funny children ones). Patricia loved her Savior Jesus (also known to her as Yayshua in a phonetic spelling) and did her best to live her faith according to his teachings for over the past half century (1 John 2:3-6; Matthew 7:21-23). Patricia Steinle passed away on December 17, 2025 and is now awaiting her resurrection at the return of her Savior.

She is survived by her husband James; her three sons Daniel, Paul and David; two sisters Mary (Gary) Altepeter of Moorhead, MN and Cecilia Nelson of Red Lake Falls, MN; and one brother Donald Killian of McIntosh, MN; three sisters-in-law Dottie Killian of Fosston, MN, Joyce Killian of Blackduck, MN, Diane Killian of Plummer, MN; and one brother-in-law Gale Cheney of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Fern Killian; her brothers Thomas, Dennis, Larry and one sister Marge Cheney.

Isaiah 57:1 "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. 2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." (NIV)
