Patricia Strickland-Britt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David W. Barnes Funeral Home from Sep. 24 to Oct. 1, 2025.
Patricia Strickland-Britt, the glue, the rock, our world, our best friend passed away peacefully at home on September 21st, 2025, at the age of 51.
She was born January 28th, 1974, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Diane Strickland-Franklin. Patricia grew up in Coffeyville, she attended local schools, she ended up completing her GED and was enrolled in some college classes.
Patricia was very artistic to the point Charles Shultz wanted her to draw for him, before he passed away.
Patricia worked for the SRS for years before she found her true passion working for Bridges Community Care which then changed their name to Mosaic, she gave 25 years of dedication to her clients and her peers, and one thing about her is she loved her job.
She was truly one of a kind, a heart full of love, kindness and compassion, she gave her all and she gave her last! She was the glue when the pieces were broken, she was the medicine when sickness hit, she was a light in a dark place, she literally took care of everyone who needed her and went above and beyond her duty here on earth, and I just want to say job well done, no one will be able to fill the shoes she left behind.
She loved her some Dallas Cowboys, she loved her family, she loved our Lightning Softball family and watching our girls play ball, she was the hype, she was life, she was fun, she had the biggest heart and gave the best hugs.
On July 4th, 2000 she finally listened and got with the love of her life and fiancée William Britt and they loved each other for 25 years and till the end, they were even baptized together on August 14, 2022, after giving their life to Christ together and although with a broken heart, he will cherish the memories they built together over the decades of love.
A very active and present mother she leaves behind two daughters, Bianca Strickland (Golden Child), and Tristan Britt (Puggie Sunshine) who will miss her tremendously.
The best Nana anyone could ask for and a title she held dear to her heart, she leaves behind to cherish her memories, her beautiful granddaughters, Kai'Aunna (KaiNooNoo) Strickland, Ah'myrikal (MyriBug) Galloway and Li'Nay (Lillybug) Galloway.
Leaves behind her sister, Rochelle Strickland, her nephews, Robert (Liana), Michael and Nicholas Strickland, her nieces, Regina and Latifah Strickland whom she loved and raised like her own!! Her aunts who were raised like sisters, Paula Banks and Martha Littlejohn.
She also leaves to cherish her memories all her adopted children by love, Tacrasia and Breshona Briggans and Alesia McFarland and many more and all her bonus grandbabies, you know who you are, she loved you all so much!! A special cousin she had phone sleep overs with whom she loved like her brother Ryan (Jamie) Strickland!! And so many special cousins whom she grew up with Ebonie (Leo), Mackenzie, Todd (Camila), Justin (Jan) Tony, Big Mike, Richard and many more!! Her stepfather James Franklin is also left to cherish her memories as he was the only father she has had. Her brother-in-law Chris Britt (Ashley) and sister-in-law Melissa Britt and mother-in-law Linda Britt is left to cherish her memories.
She loved her family down bad and she did everything she could to be the glue to the family and others and she did not disappoint, so get your rest my love cause you did the best job ever!!
She was preceded in death by an unborn baby boy, her mother, Diane Strickland-Franklin, her grandmother, Bernice Strickland who raised her and her only true ride or die best friend, Tausha Sales, and grandson, Xzavier Ahmir, her favorite uncles, William and Thomas Strickland, aunts, Gladys Strickland, her father-in-law, William Sr and brother-in-law, Jared Britt. So I know they welcomed her with big open arms, with a bottle of Mickeys and a Newport.
Many of names she had and was called, but she took pride in her Strickland family, being a mama and nana and she was the best mama and nana us girls could ever ask for, and she loved her some William Michael Britt Jr, and their 25 years of love will live on.
Services will be held at St. John Church of Faith on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will be present to greet friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
