Patricia T. Turnage Obituary
Patricia (Thorpe) Turnage, 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Middlesex Hospital.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Hemple) Thorpe. Prior to her retirement, Patricia dedicated many years of service as a Psychiatric Aide for the State of Connecticut, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to helping others.
She had a love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places, creating many cherished memories along the way. Patricia was also very active in the Middletown community and took great pride in being involved and connected with those around her including the Middletown senior center in her later years
Patricia is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Turnage of Middletown; her cherished grandchildren, including Joe Turnage of Portland, Roxann Turnage of Middletown, Laura Turnage, and Michael Turnage; who she all loved very much. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Joseph Turnage, Ariella Turnage, Akayleb Clegg, and Addison Clegg; and her great-great-grandchildren, Romeo Clegg and Royce Clegg. She was predeceased by her parents and her sons, Joseph and Michael Turnage, and grandson Steven Pollander.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Burial will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s honor to a charity of the donor’s choice. It's a great sadness to learn of Pat's passing. She pushed forward past every obstacle as if it were just another thing to do. Working full-time while raising four children, whom I know she loved with all her heart, during the 70s and 80s was just extraordinary. She loved to travel, and when she couldn't, enjoy days at the Senior Center. I remember Christmas at her house, and how it was filled with family. God bless you, Pat, as you continue your travels.
