Patricia Tucker Taylor

Patricia ("Pat") Tucker Taylor, beloved wife and loving mother to two children of Bryan, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 on April 30, 2025, leaving a void her family and friends cannot fill.

She was born in Lufkin, Texas on April 7, 1949, to Jack Wilson Tucker and Rhozine Yeates Tucker. Pat attended Lufkin High School where she met and later married the love of her life, Scott Taylor. Following her graduation from high school, she attended the University of Texas at Austin only to follow her calling to teach and transferred to Stephen F. Austin University where she graduated with a degree in elementary education. She taught in Houston for several years with the Houston Independent School District as well as with Second Baptist School . Pat was a true inspiration, known for so many wonderful attributes and qualities, including her love and loyalty to God, family and friends, her self-awareness of humility, an "uncanny" story-telling ability, unmatched cooking skills, and her infectious laughter.

Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Scott Taylor, and her two daughters, Robin Kathleen Taylor of College Station, Texas, and Laura Elizabeth Taylor of Bryan, Texas. She is also remembered by her brother, Jack Wilson Tucker, Jr., and sister-in-law, Jackie Behrendt Tucker of Houston, Texas, and in-laws, Jeffrey and Cindy Taylor of Lufkin, Texas. Her memory also lives on through her nieces, nephews, and the next generation, who often call her "Aunt Kaki", a name of deep endearment that Pat's own daughters started calling one of her most beloved life-long friends in early childhood and stood to continue among the generations. Among these that are left behind include Amanda Tucker Goldberg, Sosie Tucker-Underwood, Jay Taylor, Jamie Taylor, Brenden Taylor, and Katelyn Taylor. Pat had a special place in her heat for her grand-niece, Sosie Tucker-Underwood, who referred to her as "Kaki". Pat is also survived by a host of cousins and friends she considered "family". She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Although Pat's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and direct us. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing, and a reminder, to everyone whose life she touched of the importance to carry forth empathy, love, and dignity in all that we do. We know her legacy will carry on forever, calling upon us to take control of our behavior, attitude and how we treat one another. She would want each of us to choose a life lived that is full of meaningful acts of kindness, humanity, compassion, and service, like Christ modeled for us.

A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Patricia Tucker Taylor will be held on May 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at A&M United Methodist Church, 417 University Drive, College Station, Texas 77840. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Aggieland Humane Society in Pat Taylor's memory. https://aggielandhumane.org/

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Taylor, Sam Torn, Jack Little, Ford Albritton III, Rick Rickman, and Neal Adams.

There are no words that can express how grateful we are to our immediate and extended family, friends, neighbors, and community, who were there for us the day of her passing and all the days that have followed.

Please visit www.hillierfuneralhome.com to share deepest condolences and expressions of gratitude for Pat and a life well lived.
