Patricia A. Thomas

Patricia Ann (Martin) Thomas 77 of Burlington passed away on Thursday, August 11 at home following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on August 29, 1944, in St. Albans the daughter of Almon and Jennie (Bushey) Martin. She graduated from Bellows Free Academy class of 1962. Pat was married to Joseph Charles Thomas at Christ the King Church on November 28, 1964.
Pat worked as a cashier at Super Duper Market on Shelburne Road before landing a job as a Secretary at Rossetti Brothers Distributing. A position she held for 17 years until they sold to Baker Distributing. Pat quickly became part of the Rossetti family, so it was only fitting that for the next 30 years she worked at Northern Toyotalift as the Office Manager. Her loyalty, dedication and work ethic never wavered until she finally retired in December of 2018.
Pat was kind and gentle yet strong and stubborn. A straight shooter who lived her life on her own terms right until the end. In the yearly years, Pat enjoyed bowling duck pins, playing horseshoes, Saturday night card games and Sunday feasts Lebanese style with her husband Joe. Pat's heart was always at home with her faithful companion Colby, watching TV and shopping on QVC. She never ventured far from home but if she did you would probably find her playing bingo, having breakfast at Denny's, lunch at Olive Garden or stopping by Cumberland Farms for a scratch off or two.
She is survived by a very special niece Linda Bates and her husband Lewis who Pat referred to as "the kids". Their endless love and support was such a bright light to Pat's day. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pat also leaves behind her close friend Joe Rossetti and his partner Lynne.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 43 years Joseph Charles Thomas in 2008. Her parents Almon and Jennie (Bushey) Martin. Her siblings Mildred Church, Ralph, Vernon, Gordon Jr., and Herman Garrett and Almon Martin Jr. Her sister-in-law Mary Campbell and husband Harold Campbell.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 24 at 11:00a.m. at Christ the King Church with internment to follow at Resurrection Park Cemetery.
