Mrs. Patricia Lewis Tunstall, 86, of Durham passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Hock Family Pavilion. Patricia was born April 1, 1937, in Wake County, NC to the late Lloyd Norwood Lewis and Bertha Speagle Lewis.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her brother, John Lloyd Lewis.
She is survived by her husband Rives M. Tunstall, Sr. of Durham; sons Rives Macon Tunstall (Lynn Sundberg) of Creedmoor, NC, Craig Patrick Tunstall (Rosaland) of Oxford, NC, Tavie Lynn Tunstall (Lynnette) of Bahama, NC.; one brother, Woody Herman Yates (Stephanie); grandchildren, Hunter Tunstall, Katherine Pope (Daniel), Collin Tunstall, Justin Tunstall, Harley Tunstall, (Jordan Blackwell); one great grandson, Maverick Pope.
Patricia was a member of Bible Baptist Church and attended Harvest Glenn Baptist Church for many years. Her career began at Liggett Myers Tobacco Company for 13 years and she then transitioned to Honeywell Aerospace where she retired in 1994 after 20 years of service. Patricia was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #7 and Veterans of Foreign Wars #2740 Auxiliary. She volunteered at the V.A. Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed Water Aerobics at the Rock Quarry Pool in Durham. Patricia enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Golden Dippers Square Dancing Club.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Greg Allison and Reverend Richard Hedges.
Burial will be Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Macon Tunstall, Tavie Tunstall, Craig Tunstall, Collin Tunstall, Justin Tunstall, and Hunter Tunstall.
