Obituary published on Legacy.com by John Kennedy, FSL on Jul. 30, 2025.
Patricia Angela Manney McWilliams Turley, or Neena as she was best known to her family, passed on to her next adventure on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by family and passed peacefully, the way she had always said she wanted it to be. Neena was born in Pawtucket, RI on November 6, 1946. She was a registered nurse for more than 40 years, where she cared for patients with the same level of care that she would expect for herself – and let me tell you, that was a pretty high bar she set. After retiring, she volunteered with the American Red Cross and also sewed dresses for young girls with a mission group called Dresses for Hope. Neena loved her books - anyone that has ever visited her home could quickly see that – evident by the overflowing built in bookshelves that took up an entire wall in her home. She loved a good game of Scrabble, TCM movies, crossword puzzles and anything on tv with either Mark Harmon or Pierce Brosnan. More than any of that, she loved her family – her girls, her grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and several close friends. Neena's life was full of many different types of changes – from moving cross country multiple times, working in different medical environments throughout her career, fighting & winning her battle with cancer and many more, but through them all she taught us to face each change in our own lives as a new adventure – hence the family phrase "Just another adventure with Neena" Neena was preceded in death by her parents Everett L & Mae A Manney, her sister Evelyn Mentzer, her brother Robert Manney all of Pawtucket, RI and a great grandson Niko Ray Hammond of Stuart, VA. Left to carry on her adventures are her three daughters – Melissa (David) Hardy of Stuart, VA, Tara (Shawn) Ferguson of South Mills, NC and Meredith McWilliams (David) of Walnut Cove, NC; five grandchildren – Chelsea (Corey) Hammond of Stuart, VA, Caitlyn Hardy of Kernersville, NC, Tristan Hardy of Stuart, VA, Cole (Emma) Ferguson of Detroit, MI and Kathryn Ferguson of Kernersville, NC; four (soon to be five) great grandchildren – Josie Snow, Camille Snow, Malachi Snow, Ember Hammond and starting his adventure later this year, baby Hammond; and many more family & friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 11 am at The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either
