Patricia Whitman

Patricia Jean (Flickinger) Whitman, age 94, of Oneida, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her children on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home.

She was born on January 16, 1931 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Merle L. and Bernice D. (Munter) Flickinger. She attended and graduated from Oneida High School, Oneida, Illinois in 1948. She married William "Bill" F. Whitman on July 10, 1949 at the Oneida Presbyterian Church in Oneida, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2014.

Surviving is a daughter, Karlynne Sue (Stephen) Neagus of Aurora, Illinois and a son Larry Gene (Connie) Whitman of Ocean View, Hawaii; one grandson, Tanner W. (Kaleina) Whitman of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; two step-grandson: Tony Neagus and Sean Neagus; two great-grandsons: Nai'awe W. Llanes Whitman and Kamaehu R. Llanes Whitman, both of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patricia was secretary of J.D. McKibbin, Superintendent of ROVA School Unit 208 of Oneida, Illinois and Bookkeeper of the former Oneida Implement Company of Oneida, Illinois. She was as 80-year member of the United Church of Oneida, Illinois and the Presbyterian United Church Women's Club.

Together with her husband they raised and showed Registered American Quarter Horses and Whitman Quarter Horses for 30 years. She loved her home, her family, many friends and caring for her neighbors, designing cards, sewing and flowers, making and giving English Toffee and many trips to Hawaii.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois, with Rev. David Pyell officiating. A fellowship will be held at the United Church of Oneida in Oneida, Illinois following the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the AOW Ambulance Services and to the United Church of Oneida, Illinois.
