Patricia Nyrene Richards Wright, 48, was born on April 3, 1976 at Nightingale Hospital, in El Campo, Texas to Joe Howard Richards & Veronica Sedlock Richards. She went to be with our Lord & Savior August 4, 2024.
Trisha grew up in El Campo, Texas, and graduated from El Campo High School in 1994, where she was an active member of the Derby Dolls, started the recycling program in El Campo and participated in numerous other activities Following high school, she attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Photojournalism.
After interning at the El Campo Leader-News in 2009, Trisha pursued a career as a photojournalist in Houston. During her time in Houston, she met and married Corey Portella, and they welcomed their daughter, Celeste Marie Portella.
Later on, Trisha remarried and moved to San Diego, California, with her husband, Bob Wright, who was attending law school there. Together, they built a wonderful life with Celeste. Trisha had a deep love for her daughter, calling her every day after Celeste graduated from high school in San Diego. Trisha was incredibly proud as Celeste went on to graduate from the University of Texas in Austin. Celeste was the light of Trisha's life, and her accomplishments brought her immense joy.
Trisha later relocated to Lake Tahoe, where she worked at an art studio and found a community of friends who loved and cherished her dearly.
Trisha had a huge heart. She was compassionate, dedicated, adventurous, and a stunning free spirit. Trisha stayed close with her family and friends in her hometown in Texas, as well as her friends from San Diego and Lake Tahoe. She was loved near and far and indefinitely.
Trisha was preceded in death by her granny, Judy Boyd, her grandaddy and grandmother, Joe Edward and Pat Richards, her grandpa James Edward Sedlock, her aunt Sherilyn Perriloux, her great grandma Josephine Schimcek, great grandpa Edmund Schimcek and great aunt Earlene Janak (Errol).
Trisha is survived by her beloved daughter, Celeste Portella, her parents, Joe and Veronica Richards; her brother, Chad Edward Richards (Kim) and their sons, Lucas and Landon; her grandma, Irene Sedlock, her uncle, Tom Perilloux Sr., cousins, Tom Perilloux Jr. (Missy), Tia Perilloux-Thompson (Jason) and their sons, Colin and Charlie. She is also survived by her aunts, Carol Ann Hayes (Bobby), Shirley Sedlock, Joanne Bales, Charlotte Blume (Robert), Sandra Zemanek (Bobby) and her uncles John Sedlock, James Sedlock, along with numerous cousins.
Her family is holding a Celebration of Life at the First Baptist Church in El Campo, Texas, on September 21, 2024 at 11am with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
