Patricia Young Obituary
Patricia started at age 16 working as a seamstress at Indiana Knitwear Corporation for many years, before opening her own store called Pat's Stitch & Sew. She attended Greenfield Faith Church. Pat was a member of the Eastern Star and Greenfield Conservation Club. She enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to music, and crafting. Pat especially enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her grandkids. In her spare time, she would be traveling and enjoying vacations.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Randy) Riley and Vicki (Robert) Swinney; six grandchildren, Kathryn Bock, Jason Riley, Cody Riley, Deziree Swinney, Maddison Swinney, and Tucker Swinney; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Riley, Skyler Riley, Ava Riley, Cameron Riley, and Logan Riley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary E. Carroll; husband, Lloyd E. Young; granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Gant; sisters, Mildred Carroll Rhoads and Alice Carroll Deckard; brothers, Edward Carroll, Jessie Carroll, Norman Carroll, Wilbur Carroll, Russell Carroll, and Winton Carroll.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor John Wakeman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. The family invites you to join them in celebrating Patricia's life at a gathering at the Greenfield Conservation Club following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Alzheimer's Association, Attn: Donor Services, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or by website at https://act.alz.org. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
