Catahoula- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at St. Rita Catholic Church for Patrick J. Champagne, 79, who passed away on March 22, 2024 at Carpenter House. 

 A visitation will take place at Dion Hall on Monday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until service time.

 A rosary will be prayed by Rev. Bill Melancon at 6:30 PM on Monday.

 Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Lorries Poirier and Stephanie Champagne. Gift bearers will be Avery Champagne and Emily Champagne.

 Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. 

 Patrick was born on June 13, 1944 in Saint Martinville. Mr. Champagne retired from the USPS after 32 years of service. He also served as the fire Chief for the Catahoula Lake Fire Department, President of the Catahoula Water District and was a member of Woodman of the World. Patrick was a faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church where he served on the parish Counsel.  

 He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pearly Champagne; son, Kerry (Valerie) Champagne; grandchildren, Heather (Cody) Champagne and Seth (Stephanie) Champagne; great-grandchildren, Avery Michael Champagne and Emily Ann Champagne. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Rita Champagne; daughter-in-law, Emily Champagne; sister, Melba Maraist and brother-in-law Paul Maraist. 

 Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
