I have never met Patrick Connaire. I suspect that we may be related somehow. I come from a small town call Loughrea in Co. Galway, Ireland where the name seems to have originated.
As such, I pass on my condolences.
Incidentally, the Irish name was O'Conaire. As the English were anglicising our ancestors they often translated a name differently in different parts of the coountry. For instance, O'Connaire is also prevalent in Connemara, but was translated by the English as Conroy.
In any case, I wish the family well after their loss.
