Patrick Corrick

James Patrick (Pat) Corrick was born in Missoula on May 9, 1966 and passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 19, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born to Ernie and Barbara (Kelley) Corrick, and was the younger brother of Steve Corrick and Tom Corrick.

Pat was a bundle of energy from the start, always in motion – biking Takima Drive and hanging upside down on the monkey bars at three years old. Pat was a proud Missoula Sentinel Spartan in the high school class of 1984, where he excelled at both football and socializing, and made many good friends. He was one of the well-known great skiers and ski racers at his beloved Snowbowl. His skiing was graceful and effortless, and he was an elegant water skier as well. He was always up for an adventure – skiing the Big Couloir at Big Sky, windsurfing in Hood River, skijoring at Red Lodge, gelande jumping at Snowbowl, and skiing from snow-cats and helicopters in Canada with his wide circle of ski friends.

After his success in high school ski racing, he went on to join the Crystal Mountain race team in Washington to pursue his ski racing dreams. He was a nationally ranked Downhill racer, but after losing a close friend in a training accident, he decided it was time to focus on his education.

Pat attended Montana State University in Bozeman, where he walked on to the football team and also the college ski team. He thoroughly enjoyed college, graduating with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology in 1992. Pat earned his MBA at Pepperdine University in 1997, while working for Morrison Knudsen, a civil engineering and construction firm in Southern California.

Pat’s business passion was real estate development. He was a vice president for Hometown America in Chicago, developing manufactured housing parks early in his career. He found his true business home with his good friend and fellow managing partner, Jim McLeod, in 2003, when they formed what eventually became Farran Realty Group. He was a financial modeling wizard and the architect of complex deal structures for Farran’s many real estate projects. Over the years, Farran built over 2,000 high end apartment units across Montana. Pat took great pride in being able to provide quality housing for thousands of Montanans.

Pat was a dedicated board member and supporter of Missoula Youth Homes. He also belonged to the Ruff Club and was a lifetime member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.

On December 31, 2010, at a New Year's Eve party, Pat met the love of his life, Holly Rollins. You could say Pat and Holly were both highflyers – Pat as a downhill skier/jumper and property developer, and Holly as an aerialist with Cirque du Soleil. This fateful meeting occurred exactly 60 years to the day after Pat’s parents, Ernie and Barb, met at a New Year’s Eve party in 1950. Pat knew immediately he had found his match. They were married the following July and were soon blessed with two wonderful daughters, Neve Barbara (age 12) and Mila Cate (age 10).

Outside of work, family was at the center of everything Pat did for the past 14 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father, endlessly proud of his daughters. He shared his passion for skiing with Neve and Mila — teaching, encouraging, and building their confidence—while creating countless cherished memories together on the slopes. He could always be counted on to make special birthday and holiday meals, and to read bedtime stories to his girls each night. Pat’s free time was spent at school events, performances, gymnastics meets, skiing, and summer vacations and family trips.

Pat was so well known and well liked in his home town that a friend referred to him as the “unofficial mayor of Missoula.” Anywhere he went in Missoula, throughout Montana, and often beyond, he was bound to run into someone he knew. He genuinely loved connecting with people and had an extraordinary circle of friends spanning all ages, backgrounds, and from every corner of the country.

Pat fought an initial lengthy battle with cancer over 20 years ago, with numerous hospitalizations. The aftermath of his cancer treatment left some lasting physical challenges. But Pat never let these challenges get in the way of work, family, and fun. He was a “poster child” for cancer recovery – a photo of him carving turns on the slopes hung at the Mayo Clinic as a testament to his resilience. One of Pat’s long-time doctors described Pat as the toughest guy he ever knew. Pat’s survival was a miracle and gave him nearly two more decades of life – years that brought him Holly and their beloved daughters.

Unfortunately, his cancer returned. On September 19, Pat came home from St. Patrick’s Hospital, said his prayers with his girls, and caught that final ski bus to the snow fields in heaven.

Pat dreamed big, lived big and did big things in every part of his life – family, work and friends. His passion, his friendship, and his deep appreciation for life will live on in the lives he touched, in the hearts he filled, in his amazing wife and girls, and in the buildings he raised into the Montana skies.

Pat is survived by his wife Holly, daughters Neve and Mila, and brothers Steve and Tom. His parents, Ernie and Barb, preceded him into heaven.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm at The Wilma Theatre.
