"A ton of Love and lots of teary-eyed hugs to Robin and each member of this precious Dye family. This was quite a shock to us all. We are so thankful that Patrick is with his Saviour, no longer bound by his earthly shell, freed from sickness, pain and the troubles of this world, and yet the hole he leaves in the lives of those that knew and loved him is great. We pray for us all, especially Robin and the kids.
We lived next door to the Dyes when our kids were growing up. We all lived in the "Davis compound", and our kids were like brothers and sisters. We homeschooled together, enjoyed weekly Bible studies together, laughed a lot together, and cried some also. When my husband´s mom died, Patrick and Robin came to the nursing home in the middle of the night to be with us. Caleb was my son´s best friend. His loss was devastating to all of us. My heart aches for this family who has been through so much.
I loved to see Patrick with his kids. He was a great dad. One thing I loved that he did was make sure one of his boys escorted their sisters home at night when they were walking from next door. He taught his kids to be servants, they all ran outside to help Mom bring in the groceries, and the whole crew loved to serve others. I loved sitting in his living room eating lasagna, in the midst of the sweetest fellowship (and lots of laughter!) this side of heaven. Those were such sweet days.
Patrick was a servant of God, a godly man who married a godly woman, and they worked to make a loving, godly home and it was a testimony to so many. We all will miss him but rejoice that we will see him again. Meanwhile Robin, you know how much we love you, and if you need anything, give us a call.
We are trusting and praying that this homegoing service will be a celebration of a life well-lived for Christ....and that anyone that attends, or anyone that knew Patrick, will be drawn to the Saviour through the testimony of this man, as well as the suddenness of his passing. For each and every one of us will stand before our Creator God one day. May God be glorified!
"It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart." Ecclesiastes 7:2
Tons of Love & Lots of Prayer,
