Arnie and I (Cathy) send out deepest condolences to the entire Elwell family. Pat was a good fried, a wonderful person and a true contributor to our community. I enjoyed the chance to see Pat at Panera and give him a hug whenever possible. He will be greatly missed. Sorry neither of us was able to come to the visitation in person to express our sympathy to you all.

Very sorry to hear this news, my deepest sympathy to all the family. Pat was a great man, always loved his humor. I worked at his restaurants and even though it was work we always had fun. RIP Pat.

Paula, Kelly and Patrick
I am so sorry for the Loss of Your Husband and Father.
I was in Such Shock when I heard the News.
I, like Others was Truly Blessed to have Worked for Patrick. Not only Once, but a few times.
I still have a message from Patrick on my Phone.
I was in the Hospital when he called me.
I feel so bad for not returning that call to a Friend of Mine.
I just know...
I like so Many...
Was Blessed to work for Pat at the "Shalet Inn" right up until the end of Time of the Trailer Days in the Parking Lot Next Store... answering the Phone until they didn't come in. What Memories we all had.
And again, when Pat opened "Patrick's"
Here again... Another set of Blessings all the Way Around for all of Us who Worked for You Mr. Patrick Elwell
You my Friend...
May you Rest in Peace
Just know there is Never going to be Another Patrick Elwell like You Again!

Pat did fantastic work in helping destigmatize mental illness by starting MIRA. Research is so very important for these commonly very difficult illnesses. I offer my sincere condolences to Pat's family.
I knew Pat some because I was President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliate eastside of Wayne Cty. 1988-2010. I was on the Board of the charity now known as the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation and accepted some years ago a significant check from MIRA for this national charity funding important research.

I am so sorry to hear this. I was the office manager for Superior Redi-Mix for years and would often see Pat, either in the restaurant or when he would visit. He was one of my favorites for sure! RIP, Pat, you will be missed and have been thought of (often) by me over the years.

Paula,
We were so sorry to hear of Pat's passing and we send you and your family our deepest sympathy. Meryl loved working for Pat and spoke of him often, right up to her passing.
I will always remember Pat and I sat one Friday night at the Shalea and talked over our problems and laughing out loud at the same time until 3 am. He was a great guy and could make a person feel great just talking, much the same as another mutual friend Jim Kane who was my old boss and your old neighbor.
Always remember the good times and know that he will be fondly missed.
Ken and Sharon Ryan. (Meryl Jenkins daughter and son-in-law)
