Patrick F. Fields

Patrick F. Fields, 76, of Gale Street, Watertown, passed away April 15, 2026 at Samaritan Medical Center with his wife Lin by his side.

Pat was born September 17, 1949 in Watertown, a son of Edward V. and Josephine P. (O'Hanlon) Fields. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1967. Pat served in Vietnam in the United States Army and the United States Navy Seebees.

On October 17, 1990 he married Linda J. 'Lin' Novitski at Yesterday's Restaurant in Watertown.

Pat owned and operated PSG Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. from 1988 until he retired. For a number of years, he was a Union employee and worked as a Forman for Burkhard's Plumbing and Heating. He was Licensed Master Plumber #4 in the city, past president of the Plumbing Board and a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. He was considered the "old guy" who knew everything there was to know and then some about plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning. Pat loved to teach the younsters

He was affiliated in the past with Holy Family Church, But he truly loved the congregation and Rabbi Ilan Emanuel and former rabbi Daniel Fellman at Temple Concord in Syracuse. Despite the fact that he was not Jewish, he felt as though he was. .

Pat would like to be remembered for his smile and his grin. He was certainly a jokester and could light up a conversation with anyone. He had a very analytical mind and could figure things out in an instant. Pat was first generation Irish and very proud of it. He was especially proud when they went to Ireland twice and was able to meet his aunt and many cousins. He loved a good bourbon one ice cube, only, and of course, a Crown Royal Manhattan on the rocks with a touch of bitters. He and Lin loved doing to dinner, especially at Wise Guys and other fine restaurants when they traveled.

He always said he married up when he married Lin. He said it was because she was a retired nurse and could explain things to him in plumber language that other people couldn't. He would go with Lin to Realtor meetings in Albany. He loved the staff of the Education department of the New York State Association of Realtors and all of the Realtors he met. . He was also the owner of the Professional Institute for Real Estate Training.

Many thanks to the second-floor rehab unit at Samaritan Keep home where he was rehabilitating for 3+ months. He absolutely loved everyone there. Another thank you to the local ICU unit at Samaritan Hospital and Dr. A. J. Gajra and his staff at Hematology Oncology of Central New York. Lastly, a huge thank you to Kelle Stricherz and All Worthington -- two of the best friends ever.

Besides his wife he is survived by two nephews, Matthew Molloy and Richard Molloy both in Ireland and several cousins in Ireland and the North Country, and also his brother Michael Fields. His parents, Two sisters, Helen Molloy, Kathleen Brimmer, and a brother, John Girard died before him. Their pets Maggie, Will, Coco, Jayme P, Yuppie, Essie Jay passed away as well. He thought of them as his 'kids". He is also survived by York, Lola Rose and Elton John -- their pets - They were rehomed while he was in the hospital.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 4-7pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in North Watertown Cemetery. This summer there will be a Celebration of Life to be announced.

Pat would not want anybody to dress up or mourn him. Just as it was in the he and Lin's wedding -- clothing optional as long as you have some.
