Christensen Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services - SeymourPatrick Ryan “Pat” Followell, age 40, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the Schneck Medical Center. Born on March 27, 1985 in Seymour, he was the loving son of Richard Matt “Rick” Followell and Evelyn Marie (Black) Followell. Pat was a 2003 graduate of Seymour High School and he also attended Purdue University. During his high school years, he was an honor student, played baseball and football, and participated in trapshooting where he shot at the Grand American World Championship several times.
He was a machine technician at NTN Driveshaft Inc. for the last three years, and had previously worked at the Lannett Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and computers. Pat was a very loving and caring man with a big heart. He never hesitated to help others before himself and would often tutor people at his workplace who were going back to school. He was a wonderful father figure to his boys and was so proud of them.
His life will be cherished by his wife, Nikki Followell of Seymour; his sons: Clayton Prater and his wife, Haley, and Blake Leatherman, all of Seymour; his father, Rick Followell and his wife, Sonja of Seymour; his brother: Matthew Followell and his wife, Amanda of Seymour; his step-brother: Spencer Smith and his wife, Abbie of Polk, Nebraska; his step-sister: Meigan Vest and her husband, Josh of Seymour; his paternal grandmother, Luwanna Followell of Seymour; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Marie (Black) Followell, who passed away on December 30, 2023; his paternal grandfather, Richard C. Followell; and his maternal grandparents, James A. and Pauline Smith.
Friends and family may gather from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Emmanuel Church, 1849 First Avenue, Seymour, Indiana. Pastor Matt Scobell will conduct memorial services at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Emmanuel Church.
