Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Washington, D.C. to John F. and Patricia Forrest. He was the sixth son and seventh child of ten.
As the proud son of an army general, he traveled all over the world. His natural curiosity and love of other cultures led him to many wonderful countries where he explored and continued his love of learning.
After graduating from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Creative Writing with a minor in Business Management as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in German, Patrick worked as a Senior Copywriter for Shepards McGraw Hill. While employed at McGraw Hill he was the recipient of eight Advertising Federation "Addy" Awards.

He grew to love his community there and stayed for over 20 years. Learning and enjoying his career there as well as the numerous friends and students he taught.
At the age of 35, Patrick felt called to serve his country, and after petitioning a waiver due to his "old' age, joined the Army Reserves. He deployed to Iraq in 2008 and was awarded a Bronze Star. Patrick retired after 22 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. From acting in a few plays, bartending at the Renaissance Festival, to working at the famed Broadmoor Hotel, Patrick was a true renaissance man, never passing an opportunity to learn and step outside his comfort zone. Patrick will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, quick wit, intelligence, creative mind, writing skills, excellent debate skills, enthusiasm for running, passion for politics, history and mostly, love for his family. He will remain with us forever.
Patrick knew a lot about many things and a little about everything.
His loving siblings survive him: Scott, Jack, Bob, Diana, Mickey, Billy, Tom, and Buffy. And many other nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Jack and Patricia Forrest, brother James Porter, and sister-in-law Cecilia.
The Forrest family is deeply grateful for all the comfort, support, and generosity shown by all the friends and relatives of the family.
"Behold I make all things new."
