Patrick Michael Hickey, age 59, passed away due to complications from Covid-19 on September 14, 2021.
Pat was born on September 16, 1961, to the late Maurice and Elizabeth Hickey of Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his sons, Patrick and Ryan Hickey, his daughter, Catherine Hickey, and his three granddaughters, Bridget, Victoria, and Rebecca, as well as his sisters, Maureen Albert, Kathy Karlinski, Jean Vogl, and Beth Neidhart, and his brother, Tim Hickey; he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy.
Pat was an avid Bills fan and known for his great sense of humor and love of practical jokes. He was an avid tennis player until suffering a stroke in 1993, and continued his love of the sport even when no longer able to play or coach. He graduated from Canisius College in 1984 and St. Mary's High School in 1979. He worked as a CPA prior to his stroke, and he continued to use his gifts in accounting and finance to bless those around him throughout his lifetime. Pat leaves behind a legacy of many lives touched throughout the years across his homes in both Buffalo, NY, and Naples, FL.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
A memorial service will also be held in Buffalo, NY, with further details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
