Patrick Melvin Johnson, 71, of Abilene, Texas passed away peacefully July 8th, 2025 at Willow Creek Rehab and Nursing Facility.
He was born February 13th, 1954 in Lamesa, Texas to Woody and Mable Johnson. His family moved to Cross Plains where he attended school. The family had a small farm. Together with his Uncle Joe and brothers, they helped work the farm.
After Pat became an adult, he went to work at the Heart of America Carnival's, where he worked for 30 years and traveled all over the USA. Pat retired in Abilene where he enjoyed going to Sears Senior Citizens. He especially liked Friday's when they would play Bingo. He loved the outdoors and he loved riding his scooter to see his friends and family at their homes. During the summer he would ride his scooter to watch little league games. Pat was a born again Christian where he attended River of Life Church.
Pat is survived by Susie Puryear, his life companion for the last 14 years of his life. His daughter; Crystal Salazar, granddaughters; Desiree Mullen and Bella Salazar, 4 great-grand sons; Marcelino Christopher Rodriguez, Jeremiah Ezekiel Rodriguez, Benjamin Josiah Renee Zuniga, and Jose Juan Diego Zuniga. Sister; Rita Johnson of Whitney, Texas; brother Vernon and Trinia Johnson of Odessa, Texas; sister in law; Angie Johnson of Abilene, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents Woody and Mable Johnson of Abilene, grandson Christopher Salazar, sister; Sue Schugs and brother; Gene Johnson of Abilene, Texas.

From all of us at the Family Dollar on Pioneer...we will greatly miss seeing Patrick on an almost daily basis and the fun conversations we had with him! He was a joy to meet and get to know! Our deepest condolences to all of his family.
