Lacey, Washington - Patrick Michael Kneip, born July 9, 1946, died at home in Lacey on October 16, 2024. Pat grew up in Tacoma. He attended St. Martin's High School and Pacific Lutheran University. Pat joined the Army after graduating high school and later worked as an accountant in Tacoma before moving to Sitka Alaska with his family to work for Alaska Lumber and Pulp.

Pat and Shelley met in Alaska in 1982. They were married in 1983 and relocated to the Puget Sound area. Pat started several successful small businesses, including a fuel business, check cashing business, chicken farm, and small equipment rental company. He was also a successful investor until his death.

Pat and Shelley moved to Lacey in 2019 from Port Orchard where they had lived for over 20 years. Pat successfully rehabilitated and trained several rescue dogs. Other hobbies included playing bridge and flying hobby planes.

Pat is survived by his wife, Shelley, and two children, Michael Kneip of Seattle and Kasey (Ken) Myhra of Redmond, and four granddaughters, Maya and Bella Kneip and Caroline and Natalie Myhra. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Paul Buckholtz of Lacey, his niece Megan Danish and nephew David Buckholtz and other nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by his son Marc Kneip and his parents, Louise and Michael Kneip.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Pat on Saturday December 7, 2024, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Jubilee Lodge, 8487 Bainbridge Loop NE, Lacey, WA 98516. Memorial donations can be made to Make-A-Wish Alaska & Washington at https://wish.org/akwa.
