Patrick K. Martin “Pat”, age 64, passed away unexpectedly in Arizona on July 16, 2025. He was born to Kenneth A. Martin and Barbara Peterson (née Farrell) on December 16, 1960.
Pat was raised in Joliet, IL and graduated high school from Joliet East as a member of the Class of 1979. While he always loved to draw pictures throughout his life, his chosen profession as a jeweler allowed him to focus his professional time and effort towards a subject that he was deeply passionate about. He truly loved what he did for a living, and it showed. He cared wholeheartedly for the members of his family, and he excelled at making all in his orbit feel welcomed and loved. Whether getting a good group together for a family game night, a trip to an amusement park, or getting away with one or two loved ones to drop a line in the water, Pat always focused on enjoying time together with those that he loved. He could be goofy when the situation called for it, and he was simply an all-around funny, dependable, and good person.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth A. Martin and his step-father Stephen C. Peterson.
Pat is survived by his mother Barbara Peterson (née Farrell); his step-mother Bernadette “Bernie” Martin; his sons Tristan (Michelle) Martin, Trevor Martin, and Trey Martin; his step-children Molly Chapman, Cassidy Glasgow, and Samantha (Matthew Ludwig) Glasgow; his grandchildren Aubree Martin and Charlie Martin; his step-grandchildren Aiden Chapman, Annabelle Chapman, and Abby Chapman; his siblings Mike (Teresa) Martin, Rick (Cindy) Martin, Beth (Chris) Wilson, and Karen (Scott) Bunkowski; and his step-siblings Stephanie (Matty Stratton) Rose and Stephen Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help defray the expenses associated with his untimely passing are greatly appreciated.
