We are here to honor the life of Patrick A. Martin, Sr., in his passing. He's now in the presence of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, and family and friends who proceeded him.
Pat accepted what Jesus Christ did for each one of us, taking our sins to the cross so that we could have eternal life. He believed with all his heart that by faith we can all be together again for eternity.
Patrick was born on February 9, 1954 to John A. and Josephine (Cardenas) Martin. Pat was one of three brothers and two sisters, and one step brother; Ernest A. Martin (Irene), Johnny A. Martin (Connie), Sylvia Rummel (Gary) & Geraldine Martin and one half-brother Larry Aragon (Aurora).
Pat’s parents, and his sister Geraldine preceded him in death. Patrick had three sons, Alex (deceased), Patrick A. Martin, Jr. (Vel), and John Patrick Issiah Martin (Cindy), and one daughter; Tisha-Marie.
Patrick served in the Army for two years during Vietnam, and was stationed at Wheeler Army Base in Hawaii and Ft. Lewis at Tacoma, Washington. Pat also worked on the rigs as a pumper for El Paso gas and attended various other jobs within the petroleum industry.
Patrick was a casanova, since he was four years old he would bring home the “blonde” girls to meet everyone. As Pat got older he would stay in the bathroom for hours to make sure his hair was perfect for his date. Pat liked the women so much that he had more than one marriage. He had a good heart, and the way he lived reflected that. He was always a flirt, and never let anyone get away without telling them he loved them. He had a great soul, and He would give you anything he had, even if it meant that he would go without. He didn't always have much, but nothing ever came in the way of him being happy.
Pat did have bouts with the law, but always came out smelling like a rose, as only Pat could. Pat also loved music. He played the guitar and loved to sing with his band when he was younger. In high school his band won 1st place in a contest; he thought he was Elvis. Pat had a bad car accident and was unable to sing anymore. Consequently, he mourned the loss of his best friend in that same accident.
Pat passed away at Franciscan Hospice House on March 7th, 2016 at 6:35am. Pat’s son, John I. Martin, made a last minute flight to Tacoma,Washington from Dallas, Texas, and was able too see him for a few days prior too his death. Pat was unconscious upon the arrival of his son, but not long after his arrival, he was awake and speaking.
Pat was always proud of his boys John and Patrick.
Pat Jr. took his dad into his home, took care of him, and made sure that he was getting the best care that he could to keep him in the best health possible. Pat was a real blessing the last month’s of his father’s life, as he held a safe and loving home for his final months. The lord will bless you for doing so much.

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your loved one. May the fond memories shared with him and the resurrection hope Jesus spoke of in the Bible at John 5:28,29 be a source of comfort during this time of grief and pain.

We shared many good and fun times in our young lives. One of my favorite's is when you stood up with me at my wedding 39 years ago. I wish we would have stayed in touch. I thought about you many times over the years, and the things we got into. God bless you my friend.
