Patrick Martin McAdams, age 50, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on December 10, 2024. Born on July 9, 1974, to Charles and Sharon McAdams, he grew up in Sugar Creek, Missouri, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and a deep appreciation for family and community. He attended schools in the Kansas City, Missouri, school district and graduated from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy in 1992. Patrick furthered his education by earning a degree in Business from Columbia University, paving the way for a successful career.
Patrick devoted many years of his professional life to DST Systems, where his dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Patrick’s true joy came from spending time with his children, whom he loved very much. His love for them was evident in every aspect of his life and his pride in their accomplishments was boundless.
Patrick was a passionate sports fan who enjoyed cheering on college football and NFL games, especially when surrounded by family and friends. Known for his quick wit and sharp intellect, he enjoyed engaging in spirited debates about politics and life’s many complexities, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father Charles M. McAdams and sister Dawn M. McAdams. He is survived by his children Charles Patrick McAdams and Sharon Amanda McAdams of Wellington, Missouri; mother Sharon R McAdams of Sugar Creek, Missouri; sister Theresa (John) Cushing of Kansas City, Missouri; sister Barbara McAdams of Independence, Missouri; brother Charles (Mel) McAdams of Smithville, Missouri; brother Joseph McAdams of Independence, Missouri; brother Evan McAdams of Independence, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
To honor Patrick’s life, a Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, December 16, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 1600 Route 291, Liberty, Missouri, 64068. Friends and family are invited to come together to share memories and celebrate the incredible life Patrick lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted during the service to support Patrick’s children as they carry forward his legacy.
