Patrick Edward McDade, 65, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in his home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home located at 49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township, MI 48315.
Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on June 5, 1959, Patrick was the sixth of eight children born to John "Jack" and Theodosia "Theo" McDade (Langer). He graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School and spent the latter half of his working life as foreman on a horse breeding farm.
Patrick was a gentle and loving father, grandfather, partner, and brother. He was funny, easy to talk to, and had a special gift for doing impressions and imitating sounds. A hardworking and loyal man, Patrick was generous with his time and efforts. He had a deep love for animals-especially horses, cats, dogs, and most of all, his little dog Emmy.
Patrick "blew a wicked harp" and was acknowledged for his blues playing on the harmonica. He was also an occasional keyboardist, guitarist and composer of music. A lover of the outdoors, fishing and baseball, he will be missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his son, Shawn, and Katie McDade (Hedge); grandchildren Kennadie and Tyler; siblings Marie Miller, Danny (Rebecca), Paula (Mark Lesinski), Brian (Debby), Barry (Robert McCarthy), Susan (Eric Hebert), and Mary (Thomas Hutt). Patrick was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Susan Todd.
