Nipomo - Patrick Wayne McDuffee Sr., age 75 passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Nipomo, CA on June 3, 2023. Patrick was born on November 9, 1947, in Van Nuys, CA to June Rasmussen and Jack McDuffee. Patrick was the oldest of four children: Sharon, Brian, and Gayle. Patrick graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1965 and resided in Santa Maria for over 50 years. There, he met the love of his life, his rock, his soulmate, and his wife of over 47 years, Cheryle Theresa Bondietti. Together through thick and thin, they raised six children: Jimmy, Erin, Jodie, Shannon, Jeffrey, and Patrick II. With his wife Cheryle at his side, Patrick built from the ground up the concrete contracting company, Heritage Concrete. He ran and operated Heritage Concrete for 32 years and became one of the most well-known and respected men in the construction and concrete trade of the Central Coast. Pat Sr. also referred to as Big Pat and Papa Pat was known for his big heart because he was a giver. He helped so many people in times of strife and despair. When Patrick walked into a room, it lit up with his presence, and his contagious, radiant smile. He had a fun sense of humor, and quick wit, and always made others laugh. In the later years of his life, Patrick Sr., Cheryle, and Patrick II moved to Nipomo where he enjoyed his retirement. Pat Sr. loved cooking and thoroughly enjoyed watching people eat. Whether he was barbecuing, making clam chowder, or his famous sandwiches, making something from nothing was a common occurrence in his life, and he mastered the trait. Patrick loved his children and was always there for them in good times and bad. Patrick leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren that he loved and took great pleasure in spoiling. For them, Papa Pat was a larger-than-life personality whom they idolized. Patrick is preceded in death by his parents. Patrick Sr. was the patriarch of the McDuffee family and his loss has shaken us to the core. He will always be in our hearts, forever loved, always missed.
