I am deeply saddened as I just learned of Spiffo's passing. We worked together in the wine industry and as all those who knew him he was larger than life and one of a kind. Deepest condolences to all of his family.

I adored Pat Miffleton!! Being around him always made me feel like the world was a giant ball of kindness, generosity, laughter hospitality, and love! Remembering him in death reminds me that it is still possible to live like that today. Pat, you were and will always be a true treasure!

I was sorry to hear of Pat's death and sorrier still to learn that he had had a stroke in 2000. I did not know that. My prayers will be with him.

Pat and I were classmates at St. Paul's Elementary School, and I remember him fondly. I ran into Pat probably in the 1990's after not seeing him since we were in high school and was glad to get reacquainted. Unfortunately, we lost touch again, probably because of Pat's stroke. When you get to my age, memories are important and sustaining. I have such good memories of Pat, his parents and brother and sister.

Pat and I go way back to St. Paul's Parochial ( Catholic School ) on Fendall Avenue in Richmond. We met in 1955 or 1956--our Kindergarten year at St. Paul's. We were good friends in the 1950's and 1960's and early 1970's--and saw each other a lot. Even though we lost touch after the late 1970's--I will always remember Pat and his wonderful personality and his zest for life and living !! His Mom and Dad and older sister Mary Sue were always so nice to me and my twin brother--Stanley. God bless Pat and his family---old friend---Steve Balducci.

It is with deep sadness I learned of Spiffos passing. He and I became good friends back in the early 80s. I was the DJ at Laurel and Broady. Oh the stories. He was a kind a gentle soul. Sheila and I will miss him. We hope the family will take solace in knowing he is home again in the loving arms of his Father. RIP Spiffo

I worked with Patrick for many years in the Richmond restaurant and Virginia wine industry; he even tended bar at one of my restaurants, "South of the James" for a while and we go all the way back to the very early "Gatsby's" and "Sam Miller's" days. He was a true friend and a true professional and I will always have fond memories of those times. He has been and always will be missed.
My deepest sympathy and condolences,
Regards,

To the Middleton family, So sorry for your loss. Remembering high school days, the Young Mens Shop with Spiffo (and Big John), and many occasions where he was the life of the party. Never met a more friendly person who loved and lived life to the fullest. Wishing him eternal peace.
