Patrick E. Mythen of Florida, NY, died peacefully at home on August 29, 2017. He was 86. The son of the late Patrick & Bertha Gilroy Mythen, he was born July 24, 1931 in New York, NY. He was a US Airforce Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY and the Knights of Columbus, Old Bridge, NJ. Dad worked most of his career as a printer, where he worked for the Times-Herald Record and Goshen Litho. Dad was a great family man and amazing grandfather and will be missed by all. He was truly a man of great strength and courage, undoubtedly a leader. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Miloszewski Mythen; son, Edward Mythen & wife Pamela; daughter, Rita Megliola & husband Michael; daughter, Loretta Stopa & husband Gary; daughter, Suzanne Lepski & husband Edward; daughter, Andrea Varano & husband Antonio; daughter, Kathleen Smith & husband Dr. Mark Smith; son, Patrick Mythen & wife Patricia; 15 grandchildren, Edward, John, Thomas & James Mythen; Max Megliola; Matthew, Jordan & Kendall Stopa; Jillian, Emily & Elizabeth Lepski; Kristen, Holly, Blake & Haley Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, William, Robert, John, Frank & Thomas Mythen; 2 sisters, Sister Marion Regina "Rita" Mythen & Regina McCarthy. There will be no public visitation. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the Home Care professionals whom he loved and included as his extended family particularly, Emelia, Philomena, Sarah, Mabel, Maggie & Antoinette. They would also like to give thanks to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan County. Memorial contributions may be made to Orange County Veteran's Food Pantry, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.

So sorry for your loss. Uncle Eddie was my Godfather. He was truly a great man and will be missed by all. I can always remember as a child how he would pick me up and remember how tall he was cause I felt like I was on top of the world being so small and up that high. Prayers for all.
