Published by Legacy Remembers on May 7, 2024.
Patrick Edgar Peacock-Loukes, 93, passed away on April 23, 2024, in Vancouver, WA. He was born on August 2, 1930, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and grew up in Powell River, BC.

Patrick was a graduate of the University of British Columbia School of Architecture. He and "Boz" were married in 1955 and lived in Edmonton, Alberta, and London, England before arriving in the United States in the early 1960s. He taught architecture at OSU, then named Oregon State College. In 1965 the Loukes family of five moved to Portland where Patrick practiced as a junior architect with Wolf, Zimmer, Gunsel, and Frasca. His architectural career ranged from a V.P. of Construction Management (Dillingham Con.) to a V.P. of Marketing (Emerick Con.), practicing in Portland, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. He also served as president of the local Portland chapter of the American Institute of Architecture.

Alongside his early architecture days, he had a creative career as a theater actor in Corvallis and Portland (most notably in Music Man and Fiddler on the Roof). Patrick also enjoyed being a print model for Norm Thompson and Meir & Frank. Many friends knew him as the "Gray Fox"!

Later, Patrick enjoyed volunteering with the Royal Rosarians. He and Bobbie were top volunteers for 30 years at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center. They were active members of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, with Patrick acting as Junior Warden and Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM).

Patrick loved his homeland Canada, travel, interior design, architecture, the sun, and the ocean!

He is survived by his daughters Catherine Loukes-Shaver (Larry Shaver), Wendy Loukes (Mel Strange), Brenda Loukes-Sanguinetti (Robert Sanguinetti), grandsons Brian King (Avalon King), Peter King, Nicholas Masch, Maclain Masch, Jackson Masch (Shayla Post), great granddaughters Sloan King, Macy Masch. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Loukes, mother Elma Loukes, and brother Barry Loukes.
