Patrick Shaw Stallings was born February 01, 1965 in San Antonio, Texas and passed from this life on February 06, 2025 in Red Oak, Texas. Pat passed away unexpectedly after a long day of doing the things he loved the most: serving the Seagoville community and then spending an evening with family. His wit, wisdom, love, and friendship will be dearly missed.
Pat was a beloved husband and devoted father. He had a keen sense of humor and was dedicated to his career and his community. Pat strived to lead by example. He knew he had a calling for public service even at a young age. Pat served as a DeSoto Police Explorer when he was in high school and began working as a night shift dispatcher for Red Oak PD when he was 17 years old. He was destined to become a police officer and attended two different police academies (regular and reserve) at the same time while maintaining a full workload in Red Oak PD Dispatch. He graduated the academies and became Texas' youngest officer at the age of 18. As a Red Oak Police Officer, Pat carried a gun but his dad had to buy bullets for him until Pat turned 21.
At 21 years old, Pat started working for Lancaster PD, where he served as Patrolman, Corporal, Sergeant, Detective, Lieutenant, Commander, Captain, Assistant Chief, and then Interim Police Chief. He made top scores on every promotional test and held a record for the department's only perfect score on a promotional exam. While at Lancaster PD, Pat earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Dallas Baptist University and a Master's Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from UT Arlington.
He was hired as Police Chief for Seagoville PD where he served for several years before being promoted to City Manager. He enjoyed a long tenure as City Manager and was especially proud of his staff. He often bragged about their professionalism, work ethic, and exemplary customer service.
While Pat was building his career, he was also building his family. He and Lora began dating in 1989 and were married in 1991. Their family grew when Jennifer was born in 1993 and Sarah in 2003. Pat loved being a devoted Music Dad and went to every band concert, competition, and football game performance that Jennifer had. Later, Pat became an avid Karate Dad when Sarah's martial arts talents took her to numerous competitions and even accompanied her overseas when she competed as part of the USA Karate Team. He was Jennifer's and Sarah's biggest fan and was the love of Lora's life for 33 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edwin Stallings and Eloree (Stephens) Stallings; and his daughter, Jennifer Morgan Stallings.
Pat is survived by his wife, Lora Denise Stallings; his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Stallings; his brother, Scott Stallings and his wife, Rachel Veliz Sanders; his sister-in-law, Darlena Davis and her husband, Lane Chiles; his biological sister, Betty Lee Golden; his nieces and nephews, Brittney and Clint Orsak, Cody and Lindsey Davis, Jaymee and Ryan Lawhead, Marcie Veliz, Chelsie and Chad Szmuc, Courtney Stallings, Taylor Fritz, Brent Moreno, Jeremy Moreno; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Pat's life will be at 11:00am on February 15th, 2025 at The Oaks Church, 777 Southbound Interstate 35 Service Road in Red Oak, Texas. Interment will immediately follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Family will receive friends and loved ones at a post-funeral repass, held at 101 Hidden Creek Lane in Red Oak, immediately following the interment.
