Patrick Joseph Suchy

Patrick Suchy passed away on December 1, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Born to Leo and Gertrude Suchy on March 15, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, Patrick was the youngest of six children, Leon, Arthur, Rosalie, Ronald, and Eugene. The Suchy family were active members of St. Raphael Parish in Garden City, MI where he attended school until he attended St. Bernard's Seminary Marianhill Mission Society. He later graduated from Garden City High School ('55) and attended Henry Ford College. Patrick opened and operated a service station with his brother in Dearborn Heights and ultimately retired from his automotive career from Taylor Chrysler Plymouth. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. Patrick is survived by his wife Juanita of 64.5 years. Together they raised four children Stuart (Jackie) Suchy, Ross (Sharon) Suchy, Leslie Suchy-Kuclo, and Susan (John) Owen. Patrick's greatest joy was his six grandchildren Kyla (Brad) Doak, Corinne Kuclo, Joshua Suchy, Jillian (Jesse) Rowe, Andrew Suchy, and Jacob Nance-Suchy and his two beloved great grandchildren Elliott Rowe (16 months) and Rosalee Doak (11 months). Patrick was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Garden City Civic Theater. He loved dancing, fishing, listening to music, vacationing with his close friends, and eating delicious food. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Woodhaven Retirement Community for their compassion and kindness throughout Patrick's final year. A funeral mass for Patrick will be held at St. Kenneth Catholic Church 14951 N Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10 A.M. followed by mass at 11 A.M.
