Patrick "Pat" Thomas Tepp, Jr. was born on March 8, 1933, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, October 23, at 4:00 p.m.
Pat was one of seven siblings: Marjory Tepp (deceased), Michael Tepp (deceased), Sandy Dulak (deceased), Ronald Tepp (deceased), Bette Anne Walczyk (deceased), and Dolores Martinez (surviving).
After several summers working on the family farm in Polonia, at the age of 17, Pat left to serve 4 years in the Marines, spending time in the Mediterranean. Upon returning to Stevens Point, he survived a 78-foot fall from the city water tower, effectively ending his employment with the city but serendipitously earning him a date with Lillian (née Sadogierski), his soon-to-be wife and love of his life. Pat and Lillian were united in marriage on October 27, 1956. Together they raised two sons: Matthew (wife Sheryle), and Marc (deceased).
Pat had a long and successful career with Consolidated Papers, securing his position after assuring the company he could play shortstop for its baseball team. He and Lillian also owned and operated the Jordan Bar (also known as Pat and Lil's Jordan Bar) for a number of years.
Pat and Lillian played an instrumental role in raising their granddaughter, Alexandra, while Matthew and Sheryle pursued their education and careers. Their love, encouragement, and steady presence were central to Alexandra's life, and she remained a great source of pride and joy for Pat.
Following Lillian's passing in 2010, Pat often reflected on how fortunate he felt, remarking that he had lived through "the greatest period this country would ever experience." Throughout his life, Pat was known for his selflessness, compassion, and quick-witted character whose love of the great outdoors, specifically hunting and fishing, had few rivals. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and particularly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and teaching anyone with shared interests.
Pat entered hospice care in February, and the family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Compassus for their exceptional care and kindness. Their support ensured Pat's comfort and provided invaluable guidance to his caregivers, especially Alexandra, during his final months. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Vanessa for her dedication and loving care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
