I was so saddened today to learn of Pat's passing. He had been coming to mind unexpectedly. We were very old friends (high school). He was a wonderful guy, and always very special to me. My condolences to his family, sister, brother and his sons and their families. Pat will always be in my prayers. Aloha, Jackie (Hansmann) Chang, Killeen, TX, formerly of Honolulu, HI.

Jeff and family, I am very sorry to hear about Pat's passing. Out of the blue a few months back, I happened to think about him and was wondering what he was up to since I hadn't seen him a while. I surely wish the circumstances were different. He was truly a character, and I mean that in a very good way. He will definitely be missed.

I am so sorry about your Dad. I worked with him at the CIA and met you guys a long time ago (late 80s/ early 90s). The last time we communicated was September last year. I sent a note to Gail and Karen G. It is odd that I was thinking about him recently. Hope Max is doing ok...

My dear dear friend....I am so glad Pat and I had talked over the Christmas holidays. He was such a good friend to me and my family. Always there whenever we needed help w/our home in Manassas.. I remember how he loved to cook esp. on the barbeque. I was hoping he would make a trip to GA ...he loved to travel to see his family and friends. Rick and I and my son (Chris Gregor) send our condolences to his sons and family. Carol and RIck Geiger

Uncle Pat....I always remember being so afraid of you as a small child as you were so tall and had that real deep voice, but I also remember being so anxious to see you when we all got together. I didn't see you much over the years, but always spoke of you to my children. I love you and will miss you!

We were seated at a Chinese restaurant in Manassas, Virginia. Three booths away a man was having an animated conversation with his dinner companion and had a booming voice. My husband, Ken, said that the man kept looking over at him, but he didn't know why. As Pat got up from his booth and walked over to us we though, "oh, no." All 6'5" of him stood looming over us. He asked Ken if he was from Hawaii. Ken said yes. Then Pat asked if Ken had gone to St. Louis High School. Ken said yes. Pat introduced himself and said they had graduated together in 1960. That is how Pat and Ken reconnected 6000 miles away from where they started. We will miss him so much - his hugeness and his booming voice and the fact that he was just a big, ole Teddy Bear. Rest in peace, Pat, until we meet again.
