On Wednesday January 14, 2026 Patrick Shannon “Pat” Whaling of Perryville, MD passed away peacefully in Baltimore, MD. Born on March 13, 1955 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the beloved son to the late Frederick C. Whaling and Olivia Whaling nee Humbert.
Pat graduated from Rising Sun High School class of 1973. He served in the United States Airforce for 3.5 years and the Army National Guard for 2 years. He was proud of his country and he was very proud of his time serving in the National Guard. He was a very hard worker and served a long, prosperous career of over 30 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground as an Engineering Technician. Pat’s love for cars grew stronger over the years and he was very fortunate to own over 40 cars.
Pat is survived by his sons Patrick S. Whaling, Jr. and his wife Erin and Jeremy C. Whaling and his wife Trisha; grandchildren Nathan, Keegan, Braelyn, Camden, and Rayghan; his nephews Gregory W, Ragan, Frederick C Whaling IV; his brother Fred C. Whaling, III. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Jean W. Ragan and nephew Clifton B. Whaling.
The family will receive friends on Thursday January 22, 2026 for visitation from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at MacNabb Funeral Home, P.A. 301 Frederick Road Catonsville (21228) where a Funeral Service will begin at 8pm. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers: t2t.org. Online condolences may be made to www.macnabbfuneral.com.
