Patsy Auvenshine

Patsy Hicks Auvenshine was called home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2025, surrounded by family. Patsy was born February 21, 1936, one of thirteen children of Effie Layman Hicks and Elmer Hicks in Comanche, Texas. She was a life-long resident of Comanche and married Arlen Dale Auvenshine on December 13, 1952. Together they had two children.

Patsy loved the simple life, whether it was quilting with friends in Beattie, baking the best chocolate and pecan pies, fudge, and gravy, painting, or spending time with family. She will be remembered for her awesome sense of humor and her love of Elvis Presley.

Patsy had various jobs around Comanche and DeLeon. She was a beautician and an activity director for several nursing homes, but by far her favorite job was being a "Mema".

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Beaty and husband Ronnie of Waxahachie, grandson Heath Beaty and wife Lindy of Waxahachie, great-grandchildren Gabriel Beaty and Sophie Auvenshine, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her beloved special canine companion Jordy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, husband, and great-granddaughter Sarah Beaty.
