Patsy Bonham Amerson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, on December 13, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on May 12, 1930, Patsy was the daughter of Glenn Mills and Myrtie Conner.
Patsy gained an education at Augusta Technical College, where she earned an Associate degree in dietary services. She served as a dietician at University Hospital, where her expertise helped countless people.
Outside of her career, Patsy embraced her creative side through hobbies such as crochet and sewing, sharing her talents with family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her loving children: Ronnie Bonham (JoEtta), Glenn Bonham(Paula), Michael Bonham (Glenda), Michael Amerson (Meliha), Walter Amerson (Ginger), Scott Amerson(Sonia), Susan Langley (Michael), and Ruth Boyd (Jerry). She is also survived by her brother Joel (Vickie) Conner. She was a proud grandmother to 23 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 49 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to 10 great-great-grandchildren. Patsy's legacy also includes memories shared with many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember the love and wisdom she imparted. Her spiritual guidance and love for Christ was evident in the way she lived and the care she showed to others.
Patsy was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius Bonham, and her second husband, Elmer Earl Amerson. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Glenn (Mary) Mills, Rufus Mills, Martha (Edward) Green, and Monte (Lawson) Tuttle, and daughter-in-law, Glenda Bonham.
Patsy Bonham Amerson's life was characterized by love, service, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered.
Memorial Service will be held January 17, 2 PM at Legacy Ridge Baptist Church at 2629 Barton Chapel Road in Augusta, Georgia.
