Patsy "Pat" Parker Butcher passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the age of 90 years old. She was born on August 1,1932 in Buckner, Arkansas to the late Paul William Parker and Seletia Monollie Massey Parker and was the last surviving of ten children. Patsy graduated from Magnolia High School in Magnolia, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Homer Robert "Bob" Butcher, at the age of 17 on August 26,1949 then made the move to Milton, Florida in 1957. They had been married for 56 years when Homer passed away in 2005. During their time there, they owned and operated Butcher's Automotive and were heavily involved in the church and Sunday school classes at First Baptist Church.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Robert Butcher; and brothers and sisters, Paul Parker, Jack Parker, James Kelly Parker, Kenneth Gerald Parker, Mildred Dickson, Helen Pittman, Margaret Cooper, Mary Duren and Dorothy Erickson.
She is survived by her three children, daughters, Paula Denise Butcher and husband Donny Nicol of Milton, Florida and Mary Karen Gleason and husband Matthew of Destin, Florida; son, Robert Scott Butcher and wife Ashley of Mobile, Alabama; She was known as "Mamaw" to her eight grandchildren, Matthew Christian and wife Alicia of Sarasota, Florida, Michael Christian and wife Laurel of Milton, Florida, Heather Jenkins and husband Tyler of Destin, Florida, Whitney Pike and husband Matt of Milton, Florida, Parker Butcher of Mobile, Alabama, Makinlee Butcher of Mobile, Alabama, Maggie Butcher of Mobile, Alabama, and Brooks Butcher of Mobile, Alabama; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe Christian of Sarasota, Florida, Mason Pike of Milton, Florida, Ella and Saylor Jenkins of Destin, Florida, Cole, Xander and Rory Christian of Milton, Florida and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
The family expresses many thanks to her wonderful nurses, aides and friends at Navarre Gardens and Regency Hospice of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Visitation will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, September 17th at First Baptist Church, 6797 Caroline Street Milton, Florida 32570, with a service to immediately follow at 3:00pm. She will then be laid to rest at Milton Cemetery alongside her late husband Bob.
Pallbearers will be Parker Butcher, Brooks Butcher, Mike Duren, Matt Christian, Michael Christian, and Cole Christian.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to First Baptist Church of Milton, Florida or The Dementia Society of America.
