Mrs. Patsy R. (Perkins) Charlesworth, age 85, of Wilmington, DE, died on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE.

Mrs. Charlesworth was born in Reidsville, North Carolina in 1940, daughter of the late Howard P. and Hazel L (Strader) Perkins. Patsy was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She always valued her daily talks with her sister Peggy and loved spending time with family. She looked forward to regular meetings with friends and conversations with neighbors. She devoted her life to her family. She loved gardening. Patsy will be sadly missed by her sister, brother, children, grandchildren and all her family.

Patsy was predeceased by her husband, Jay Charlesworth (he died 2007), her parents, Howard and Hazel (Strader) Perkins, her brothers, Charles Perkins, David Perkins and Jerry Perkins. Patsy is survived by her siblings, Peggy Jones and Ralph Perkins, her children, Craig Durgin and his wife, Heather (Day) Durgin of Wilmington, DE, Wendy (Durgin) Shahub and her husband, AbduNaser Shahub of Plano, TX, and Karen Durgin of Delanson, NY. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Christopher Durgin, Ahmed Shahub, Nur-Alhuda Shahub and husband Adnan Ahmed, Sarah Shahub and husband Shadi Smoudi, Khadija Shahub and Iman Shahub as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Patsy will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Chester Bethel Cemetery, 2619 Foulk Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy, consider making a donation to their favorite charity.
