Patsy Chastain

Patsy Howell Roberts Chastain, age 81, of Lavonia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Born on July 10, 1943, in Franklin County, Patsy was the daughter of the late Bob Howell and Viola "V. O." Browning Howell Randall. Patsy was a proud graduate of Lavonia High School, class of 1961. Throughout her life, she cherished the friendships and memories made during her school years. Patsy had a long and distinguished career in banking, retiring from First Citizens Bank.

Patsy was an active member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Patsy made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Patsy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her compassion and caring nature will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her first husband, James Roberts; her stepfather, W. B. "Dub" Randall; and stepbrothers, Clarke Randall and Michael Randall.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde "Buddy" Chastain; her sisters, Bobbie McCormack and Jimmie (Bo) Lowery; stepsisters, Priscilla Watkins and Elizabeth (Daniel) Crump; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Lavonia First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Chitwood, Dr. Larry Finger, and Rev. Tommy Childress officiating. In accordance with her request, Patsy was cremated.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Patsy's memory to the Lavonia First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 47, Lavonia, GA 30553. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Family Hospice Care Givers and to Brian and Renee Duncan for all that they have done for them.
