Patsy Ruth Cope, age 92, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whose love for life and family touched everyone around her.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Richard Cope; daughter Ronna Olivarez (Rick); step-sons Michael Cope (Shelagh) and Richard T. Cope (Christie); and sister Linda Buckner. She was blessed with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey and Avis Lester, and sisters Dorothy Johnston and Sue Doell.
Throughout her life, Patsy dedicated herself to helping others. She worked at O'Connor Elementary in Victoria, assisting special needs children with motor skills. She also coached gymnastics for 19 years with the Flying V's through the City of Victoria Parks and Recreation Department, inspiring countless young athletes.
Patsy's passions included painting, ceramics, and traveling-especially trips to Missouri to visit her sister Dorothy. She loved the beach, enjoyed recreational motorcycle rides, and had a lifelong love of learning, reading, and studying the Bible. Above all, Patsy cherished her family, who were her pride and joy.
A small private gathering to celebrate Patsy's life will be held at Canyon Lake, Texas, in early December.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of South Texas, Victoria, Texas, in honor of Patsy's compassionate spirit.
