Patsy Boothe Daugherty

Patsy Daugherty was called home to Heaven on April 18, 2025. Born Patsy Anne Booth on January 17, 1939 in Austin, Texas, she was raised in South Austin by her parents, Lawson and Helen Boothe, at a time when the area was still dominated by farms and open fields. Raised in a strong Christian home, Patsy always led a life devoted to Jesus and the teachings of the bible.
In 1956, Patsy met the love of her life, Thomas J. Daugherty, and they were married in a whirlwind romance that would last until, but also beyond, his passing in 2009. Together they raised three wonderful children, Wanda, Sharon and Tommy.
Once married, Patsy dedicated herself as an Air Force wife and Mother, following TJ's assignments to Germany, Kansas, and finally to San Antonio just before TJ's retirement. A Job with the Texas Department of Corrections would take TJ, Patsy, and Young Tommy to Huntsville, Texas in the late 70's. Also around this time, the arrival of TJ and Patsy's first Grandchild, George. In the early 80's, with just Tommy left under their roof, Patsy became a realtor. She would continue this throughout the 80's and into the early 90's. She was also blessed with three more grandchildren, Phillip, Ami, and Laura. Their home in Huntsville would be a welcoming home away from home for all of her grandkid's holidays and school breaks. They would always enjoy Patsy's fabulous cooking and some of her great specialties like her Chicken and dumplings and everyone's breakfast favorite, biscuits and gravy.
In 1996, TJ and Patsy left Huntsville to be closer to family in Austin where they lived with Sharon and her three children. Patsy spent time caring for her Aunt Nell and her mother Helen as well as helping her Grandkids. After the passing of her Aunt and her mother, Patsy and TJ enjoyed their retirement, frequently visiting the casinos of Louisiana or TJ's family in Arkansas. Patsy spent her twilight years surrounded by family, leaving Austin to settle in a new home in Martindale where the family had made strong roots for 20 years. She spent her final years at the Shade Springs Nursing Home where their attentive care kept her happy and comfortable in her final years.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Lawson and Helen Boothe, her son, Tommy, and her husband, TJ.
She is survived by her Brothers, Bobby and Terry Boothe, her daughters, Wanda Rasmussen and Sharon Norman, Her Grandsons, George Rasmussen and his wife, Wendy, and Philip Norman and his wife, Christina, Granddaughters, Ami Mays and her husband, Trey, and Laura Fox and her husband, Greg, and Great Grandsons, Ori and Zan Mays.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home of Austin. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the Harrell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, Austin Texas.
