Patsy Sue Rigsby Davis
Aug. 29, 1931 – Jan. 28, 2024

Memorial services for Patsy Sue Rigsby Davis, 92, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Patsy Sue Rigsby Davis was born on Aug. 29, 1931, in Sand Springs to Joe Raymond Rigsby and Bertha Lillard Rigsby, not long after, the family returned to Sallisaw to build their lives together. Patsy attended Sallisaw Public Schools and was involved in a variety of activities, including the school's band. She graduated with honors in 1949. She would go on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northeastern State College, Tahlequah.
On Oct. 13, 1951, she married James F. "Jiggs" Davis in the residence she had grown up in. They had four sons: Steve, George, Joe and Todd. Although they would keep her busy, she still began a career in teaching and served several school districts around the Sallisaw area. Later, she accepted a position with the Department of Human Services, where she worked with distinction as a Case Manager and eventually as a Senior Supervisor. In 1986, she retired from the state to enjoy her family, now having grown to include daughters-in-law and several grandchildren.
She was active as a Sunday school teacher for her church. She loved to entertain and cook, especially enjoying the bigger family gatherings. Time with her grandchildren and numerous other family friends were always a treat for her.
At the time of her death, she had been preceded by her parents, Joe and Bertha Rigsby of Sallisaw, her husband of 62 years, James F. "Jiggs" Davis of Sallisaw and her sister, Peggy Rigsby Zulkey and her husband, Leroy Zulkey of Tulsa. Also, three of her sons, George Davis of Sallisaw, Steve Davis of Tulsa and Todd Davis of Griffin, Ga., and the recent passing of her granddaughter, Hailey Devon Davis of Tulsa.
She is survived by her son, Joe Davis of Tulsa; his wife, Barbara and their daughters Lindsay Davis Bailey, her husband Seth Bailey and their sons, Drew and Brady of Roanoke, Texas; Jessica Davis McKenna, her husband Daniel McKenna and their son, Jackson of Tulsa; and Hailey Devon Davis' partner Aaron Robinson and their daughter, Peyton Noelle Robinson, Bobbie Points Davis Brewer, wife to George Davis and their children, Tucker Davis, Choctaw, Hunter Davis, Choctaw. Susie Miles Davis, wife to husband Todd Davis, their children, Drew Davis of Dallas, Brooks Davis, Washington, D.C., Macy Davis, Fayetteville, Ark., also Bo Davis, son of Steve Davis and his wife Marcie and their children, daughter Sophie, son Hudson and daughter Lyla of Tulsa.
She had a host of other relatives, aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her along with countless friends and neighbors from Sallisaw and around the country as well.
She lived a long, good life and is now with her Heavenly Father and those who have gone on before her.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Zulkey, Mark Zulkey, Jack Lillard, Jack Gaston, Tucker Davis, Hunter Davis, Cary Corley and Gary Boyd.
