Patricia "Patsy" Martin Davis, 84, of Greenwood, widow of Marion W. Davis, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at her home.
Born on June 26, 1941 in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Rayford Martin and Carolyn Babb Martin.
Patsy dedicated over 30 years to the healthcare field, working in administration on the EKG Unit of Self Regional Medical Center before her well-deserved retirement. She was a beacon of compassion and kindness, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Patsy's love extended beyond her career and into her personal passions. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team and rooted enthusiastically for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Music held a special place in her heart; she simply loved music in general. A highlight of her social life was gathering and seeing the Swinging Medallions perform, an event she always looked forward to.
Above all, Patsy enjoyed and loved her family deeply, finding her greatest happiness in their company. Her warmth and loving nature created a home filled with cherished memories.
A woman of deep faith and devotion, Patsy was a charter member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church for over 55 years. Her church involvement was extensive and meaningful. She was a member of the Tabitha Sunday School class, volunteered her time in the nursery, and was a faithful member of the Women's Prayer Group.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Jay (Randall) of Ninety Six, Beth Davis (John) of Greenwood, and Susan Davis of the home; sister, Marcia Riddle of Ware Shoals, grandchildren, Michael Saxon, Matthew Saxon, Brad Vail, Savannah Hudgens (Levi), Summer Davis (Cameron), and Jessica Davis; and great grandchildren, Embry Saxon, Judson McDowell, Everleigh Watts, Charlie Walker, Sidney Walker, Weston Templeton, and Nicholas Lavecchia, III.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Davis and sisters, Joan Harvey, Glenda Sweatt, and Nancy Martin.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Abney Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Arender and Pastor Brian Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Michael Thigpen, Danny Riddle, Michael Sweatt, Billy Sweatt, Jacob Nelson, Brad Vail and Randall Jay.
Honorary escort will be members of the Tabitha Sunday School class.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Lisa, 3205 Ninety Six Highway, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
The family would like the thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, hospice nurse, Tracey Canfield, Lori Shaw, Dr. Bryan Ellenberg, and Dr. Jonathan Hegler for their love and care of Patsy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Abney Memorial Baptist Church - Building Fund (www.abneymemorial.org/give) or Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
