Patty Dawes, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 22,2024. Patty was a loving and devoted mother, sister, Nana, and Gigi, serving as the glue that held her family together. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, wisdom, and her willingness to help those in need.
In her spare time, Patty enjoyed baking, cooking, playing computer games, and traveling. Most importantly, she treasured making memories with her family and hosting holiday gatherings. Patty will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Born on February 27, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Henry and Garnett (Garlinger) Wright. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Everett Wright; mother, Garnett Wright; daughter, Michelle Patterson; sisters, Mary Westmoreland and Rachel Stone; brothers, Henry Wright, Richard Wright, and Asa Wright; and her husband, William Dawes.
Patty is survived by her loving family, including sons Jackie, Steven, and Sean Wright; son-in-law Richard Patterson, Sr.; grandchildren Amy Hampton, Richard Patterson, Jr., Correy Wright, Lesley Patterson, Ashley (Corey) Schweinhart, Cheyenne Wright, Jesse Wright, Jonathan Douglas, and Jennifer (Jamie) Wright; grandson-in-law Wayne Hampton; great-grandchildren Leah Covin, Rari Covin, H'aniya Covin, Jamie Roach, Jr., Chloe Hampton, Julius Hampton, Halie Hampton, Eric Hampton, Gracie Hampton, Hunter Hampton, Makayla Patterson, Jaxon Patterson, Jesse Wright, Jr., Ryder Douglas, Clementine Schweinhart; sister Melody Westmoreland; brother Jackie Wright; brother-in-law Leonard Westmoreland; sister-in-law, Phyllis Wright; nephews James Westmoreland, Timothy Westmoreland, Mike Wells, Jason Wells, and Rod Wells; nieces Jessica Westmoreland, Rhonda (Jeff) Munsie, and Amber Wright; as well as a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
