Patsy L. Dillow, age 88 passed away July 18, 2011. She was born on October 1, 1922 to William R. and Lyda Patrick in Asberrys, VA. Formerly of Ceres, Virginia; Roachdale and Indianapolis, Indiana. Patsy worked as a telephone operator, grocery store owner/ manager, waitress at B/B nightclub, cashier at Sanders Deli and then retired from Wishard Hospital accounts payable office at age 62. She was well known for her accounting skills. She continued to work part time for B & C Enterprises for ten additional years. Personal interests included reading, family activities, bingo and belonging to the Moose. Patsy was also an accomplished bowler. In her early years she served as a Girl Scout, Brownie and Campfire girl leader and as a constant chauffeur for her six children. Patsy will be fondly remembered for her love of family and her encouraging support of all family members. Patsy and husband Charlie also enjoyed dancing and playing cards with good friends and neighbors from Burke Street. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Dillow and later her companion O.W. (Bill) Long and daughter Penelope Melendrez plus 4 sisters; Mabel Penland, Jessie Osborne, Nell Hamby and Betty Patrick; 3 brothers Bruce, Charlie and Rob Patrick. Her survivors include her children: Sons; Charles Dillow (Betty), Ron Dillow (Shaun). Daughters: Priscilla Dillow, Dawn Morgan, (Bruce), Jocelyn Glass, (John). Also: Son-in law Warren Melendrez, Sister-in-law Ruth Patrick and friend Pat Shipley. Others are ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren plus many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family thanks Manor Care Avon for their wonderful care during Patsy�s time there. Funeral aervices will be at Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel (76 N. State Rd. 267) on Thursday, July 21 at 11 am. Calling will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to services. Entombment will follow at Floral Park Mausoleum. In leiu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
