Patsy Waters Durrence, passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 84 at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Born on June 3, 1939, in Glennville, Georgia, to Charlie Foster and Elizabeth "Dollie" Rachel Branch Waters, Patsy lived here all of her life.

She was a proud graduate of Glennville High School's class of 1956. Additionally, Patsy attended the esteemed Bolen-Draughn Business School in Savannah, further enhancing her knowledge. Patsy had a short career working for Georgia Power. She married Clanton Wayne Durrence on April 11, 1959 and became a homemaker raising their two children. 

Patsy's elegant sense of style made her stand out wherever she went as she was always the best dressed in any room she entered, Patsy exuded grace and sophistication. Her impeccable fashion sense served as an inspiration to many.

A woman with many interests and passions, Patsy found solace and joy in various activities. Above all else, she was a devoted member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Patsy's steadfast faith guided her throughout her life, providing her with strength and support during challenging times.

Patsy was also an active member of the Glennville Garden Club and even the honor of serving as its President for a term.  Not only was Patsy involved in civic organizations but she was also a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi. Through this sisterhood, she developed lifelong friendships while actively engaging in endeavors within the community.

In her leisure time, Patsy delighted in indulging her love for shopping and travel. Exploring new destinations and experiencing different cultures brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Patsy also relished the tranquility of the beach.

Above all else, Patsy cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who nurtured deep connections with those around her. Her presence filled gatherings with laughter, love, and cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby & Ala Mae Waters and Billy & Sandra Waters, brother-in-law, Bernard Wainwright and a daughter, Angela Folsom.

She is survived by:

Husband of 64 years, Wayne Durrence of Glennville, Georgia

Daughter, Renee Savitz (Curtis) of Frisco, Texas

Son-in-law, Jay Folsom of Glennville, Georgia

Sister, Jurell Wainwright of Baxley, Georgia

Grandchildren, Casey Butler (Jason) of Glennville, Georgia
Cody Folsom (Amanda) of Glennville, Georgia
Cameron Savitz of Denton, Texas
Madison Ioannides (Bill) of Frisco, Texas

Great Grandchildren, Brooks Butler, Mercer Butler, Payson Folsom, Parker Folsom, Zane Ioannides, Remi Ioannides

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patsy's caregivers: Brenda Mckever, Tearesa Wilcox, Robin Stanfield, Sophia McMillen, Anita Cook and the staff of Ogeechee Area Hospice. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Monday, January 15, 2024 at Loves Chapel Primitive Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, January 15, 2024 at the chapel of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
